なる · naru · JLPT N3 · verb-suru

to change

🐛🦋 為 = do, act; なる = become: what you do is what you turn into

The kanji 為 means doing or acting, as in 行為 (an act). As なる it means to become, to turn into, or to reach a point. Everyday Japanese usually writes it in kana, as なる, rather than with the kanji.
