濡れる

ぬれる · nureru · JLPT N4 · verb-ichidan

to get wet

💧☔ 濡 = water 氵 + need 需: what needs water gets wet

The left side 氵 is the water radical; the right side 需 means need and itself contains rain 雨 on top. Sound hook: nureru sounds like new rain — new rain falls and you get wet. The れる ending marks it as the intransitive get-wet verb, versus 濡らす, to wet something.
