有料
ゆうりょう · yuuryou · JLPT N2 · na-adj
admission-paid
🎫🛣️ 有 = have + 料 = fee, so 有料 = has a fee: admission-paid or toll
有 (yuu) means to have, and 料 (ryou) means fee or charge. Together, 有料 describes anything with a fee attached, like paid entry or a road toll. 料 also appears in 料金 (ryoukin), another word for fee.
有 — hand 𠂇 + moon/meat 月
Originally depicted a hand holding a piece of meat (月 here is the 'meat' radical, not moon), expressing the idea of possessing something. Over time the meaning broadened from 'to hold/possess' to the general sense of 'to have' or 'there is/exists'.
料 — rice 米 + dipper 斗
料 combines 米 (rice/grain) with 斗 (a measuring dipper), depicting the act of measuring out grain. From this concrete sense it extended to 'to measure, estimate, anticipate' and to 'materials' (things measured out for use), as in 材料 'materials' and 预料 'to anticipate'.
