🧹 掃く = hand 扌 + broom 帚; haku sounds like hacking at the dust
The left part 扌 is the hand radical, and the right part 帚 is an old character for broom. A hand holding a broom means to sweep. The same kanji is read そう in 掃除 (そうじ, cleaning).
