💐🔌 挿 = 扌 hand + 臿 spade: a hand pushes a blade into the soil
Used for sliding something into a slot or holder: 花を花瓶に挿す (flowers into a vase), USBを挿す (plug in a USB stick). Grafting fits too: a cutting is inserted into the stock. Same kanji as 挿絵 (sashie), an illustration inserted into a text.
