慣らす

ならす · narasu · JLPT N3 · verb-godan

to accustom

🐕 慣 = heart 忄 + pierce through 貫: a habit that goes all the way to the heart

慣らす is the transitive form of 慣れる (nareru, to get used to): nareru means you get used to something, narasu means you get someone else used to it. Example: 犬を慣らす, to get a dog used to something. Don't mix it up with 鳴らす (to ring) or 均す (to level), which sound the same.
