意思

いし · ishi · JLPT N3 · noun

purpose

🎯 意 mind + 思 think = what your mind is set on: your intention

Ishi sounds like 'is she?' as in 'is she willing?' It is a homophone of 石 ishi, stone, so a firm 意思 is a will as solid as stone. 意思 means what you intend to do, and it differs from 意味 imi, which is what a word means.
