何 (nan, what) + とか (toka, or something) = some way or other
Literally 'what-or-something': you don't know which way yet, but some way will work. なんとかなる (nantoka naru) means 'it'll work out somehow', and なんとかする (nantoka suru) means 'I'll manage it one way or another'.
