人込み

ひとごみ · hitogomi · JLPT N3 · noun

people

👥 人込み = person (人, hito) + packed in (込み, komi): people packed together

込む (komu) means to be crowded or packed in, as in 電車が込む, the train is packed. Add 人 and the h sound softens to g: hito + komi becomes hitogomi, a place packed with people.
