🍺 Biiru is just beer said the Japanese way: beer → bii-ru
Borrowed from Dutch bier in the Edo period, when Dutch traders at Nagasaki brought it over. That is why it is ビール and not ビア. Japanese adds a vowel after the final r, so beer becomes bii-ru.
