ドライブ

ドライブ · doraibu · JLPT N3 · noun

drive

🚗 Straight from English drive: do-rai-bu, a vowel after each consonant

Japanese borrowed the English word drive and gave each consonant its own vowel to fit its syllables: d becomes do, r-i-v-e becomes rai-bu. Used mostly for a leisure drive or outing by car, and also for a computer disk drive.
