ジーンズ

ジーンズ · jiinzu · JLPT N3 · noun

jeans

👖 jiinzu = English jeans in katakana: jeen + zu

A loanword from English. The long ジー (jii) keeps the stretched ee of jeans, ン is the n, and the final s becomes ズ (zu) because Japanese adds a vowel after most consonants. Say jeans slowly with an extra u: jii-n-zu.
