アウト
アウト · auto · JLPT N3 · noun
out
⚾ Borrowed from English out, as in baseball's three strikes and you're out
アウト came into Japanese through baseball and keeps the English meaning. It sounds like auto but has nothing to do with cars. You also hear it as slang for 'that's not OK' or 'you're done', like the opposite of セーフ (safe).
