🤝 はじめ (beginning) + まして (for the first time): a greeting used only when first meeting someone
Use はじめまして only at a first meeting. The まして part means 'for the first time', so you would not say it when meeting the same person again. Pronounced ha-ji-me-ma-shi-te.
