🎁 kureru sounds like courier: someone delivers a gift to me
くれる means someone gives to me or my side, or does a favour for me. The giving always flows toward the speaker, like a courier arriving at your door. After a て-form verb it means does it for me: 教えてくれる = teaches me (kindly).
