🎲 か (whether) + も (even) + しれない (can't know) = who knows, maybe
しれない is the negative of 知れる, to be knowable. So 雨かもしれない literally says: whether it rains, even that can't be known. That is why it means maybe or might. Put it after a verb or noun to soften any statement.
