うろうろ

うろうろ · urouro · JLPT N2 · adverb

aimless wandering

🚶 sounds like roam-roam: you roam, then roam again, going nowhere

A doubled sound word (gitaigo): repeating uro mimics steps looping back and forth with no destination. Same pattern as きょろきょろ (looking around restlessly). Often used as うろうろする, to hang around or wander aimlessly.
