🍎 丸 maru = round, complete + ごと goto = and all of it, nothing left out
丸 (maru) means circle, and a circle has no missing piece, so it came to mean whole. ごと means including everything with it. A common example is りんごをまるごと食べる: eat the apple whole, core and all.
