铸造

zhù zào · HSK 7

to cast (pour metal into a mold)

🔥⚒️ 铸 (cast metal) + 造 (make) = to found/cast by pouring molten metal

铸 carries the metal-casting sense (note the 钅 metal radical) and 造 means to make or build. Together zhù zào is the foundry act of pouring liquid metal into a mold to form a shape.

造 — 辶 (walk) + 告 (tell/announce)
造 combines the walking radical 辶 with 告 (announce), which also gives the sound. Originally it meant 'to go and report to,' then 'to reach' or 'arrive at.' Over time the meaning shifted to 'to make' or 'to build,' the sense most common today.
