transport
🚚 运 = transport/luck + 输 = transport/lose; together: ship goods
运 means to move/transport (also 'luck'), and 输 means to transport (also 'to lose'). Doubled up, 运输 narrows to the logistics sense: shipping or conveying goods from one place to another.
运 — walk radical 辶 + 军 jūn (army)
Originally depicted an army (军) on the move (辶), meaning to transport or move troops. The sense broadened to 'transport, move, revolve' and later acquired the abstract meaning of 'fortune' or 'luck'—what fate moves toward you. The simplified form replaces traditional 運.
输 — cart 車 + 兪 (phonetic)
输 is a phono-semantic compound. The radical 車 (cart/vehicle) gives the meaning, originally referring to transporting goods by cart. The component 兪 supplies the sound. From 'transport' it extended to 'send/deliver', then by metaphor to 'lose' (as in handing over stakes in a game).
