as it turns out
💡 敢 = dare + 情 = feeling/situation; dare-to-say-the-situation = aha, so that's it
敢 (dare) + 情 (feelings, circumstances). Literally dare-speak-the-truth, used when you suddenly grasp how things really stand. Common in Beijing speech as an aha-moment marker: so it turns out..., as a matter of fact...
敢 — 耳 ear + 又 hand (right) + 攵-like top
Oracle bone forms show a hand seizing an animal or object, suggesting boldness in taking hold. Later script regularized the shape, with components resembling a hand grasping near an ear. The original sense of daring to seize extended to the modern meaning 'to dare' or 'bold.'
情 — heart radical 忄 + 青 (qīng)
A semantic-phonetic compound. The heart radical 忄 signals that the meaning involves feelings or inner states, while 青 supplies the sound 'qing'. Originally referring to genuine feelings or emotion arising from the heart, 情 expanded to cover sentiment, affection, and circumstances or situations more broadly.
