家园 — home

🏡 家园 = family/house + garden/yard — your home ground

家 means house or family, 园 means garden or enclosed land. Together they form the warm concept of ones homestead — the place where your household and its surrounding land belong to you.

家 — roof 宀 + pig 豕
Originally a pictograph of a pig under a roof, since domesticated pigs were kept in or under the home in ancient China. Over time the meaning broadened from 'household' to 'family,' and by extension 'home' or a specialist (as in 专家, 'expert').

园 — enclosure 囗 + 元 (yuán, phonetic)
园 is a semantic-phonetic compound. The outer 囗 (enclosure) shows a walled or fenced-off area, while 元 inside gives the sound 'yuán'. It originally meant a fenced garden or orchard, and still means garden, park, or cultivated grounds today.
