🌍 宏 grand + 观 view = the grand view: the whole system, not the details
宏 means grand or vast; 观 means to view or observe. Together they name the big-picture, whole-system level — the opposite of the fine-grained 微观 (micro). Macroeconomics is 宏观经济学: the grand-view economy.
