✅ 奏 (achieve, present) + 效 (effect) = to produce the effect; it works
奏 carries the sense of bringing about or presenting, and 效 means effect or result, so 奏效 literally means to bring about an effect — i.e. a remedy or plan shows results. Sound cue: zòu xiào echoes zoo show, the show that actually works.
奏 — hands 廾 lifting offering 夭 + 丰 (sheaf)
Originally a pictograph showing two hands respectfully presenting an offering or sheaf upward, often interpreted as presenting music or tribute to a ruler. From this ceremonial sense it came to mean 'to play (music),' 'to present (a memorial to the throne),' and by extension 'to achieve' or 'accomplish.'
