📢🛒 DOU-SHOUT — you shout out loud to peddle your goods

Dōushòu sounds like dou-shout. A street hawker shouts prices to sell wares. 兜 means to wrap around or solicit, 售 means to sell — wrapping people in with your sales pitch.

兜 — 白 (white) on top + 兒 base (child/legs)
兜 originally pictured a helmet or hood covering the head, with the upper part suggesting the headgear and the lower part showing a person beneath it. Over time the meaning broadened from 'helmet' to 'pouch' or 'hood-like pocket,' since both wrap around and hold something. Today it commonly means 'pocket' or 'to wrap up.'
