Avoir. J'ai mal, tu as mal.
To have. I hurt, you hurt.

La tête. J'ai mal à la tête.
The head. I have a headache.

Le bras. J'ai mal au bras.
The arm. My arm hurts.

Bien. Je vais bien.
Well. I'm doing well.

Bonjour Louis ! Tu vas bien ?
Hello Louis! Are you well?

Non, j'ai mal à la tête.
No, I have a headache.

Pauvre Louis ! Et le bras ?
